Monday Afternoon Excuses! Oklahoma City Family Photographer, The Photojunky
I hate excuses... HATE THEM! Yet.. here I sit ready to spill mine out and hope and pray for understanding that I may or may not deserve. I desperately want and need to apologize to those of you that have been trying to email and call. There are emails and messages that have been lingering in my in boxes for longer than I wish to divulge. I've had to say no to some new clients and refer others away (ouch ouch). For the last 3 months or so photography has had to take a major back seat, as my girls are getting older and more involved, my time has become non-existent. I love this part of being a mother, I love watching my children grow and learn and achieve goals, and if only I could physically make myself stay up until 1AM and be up by 6AM, or be able to edit while driving from cheer practice to dance lessons... I could do it all... I am not that person. Without around 8 hours of sleep, I turn into what my youngest calls "grumpy pants", who is not very pretty, nice, or understanding.
As I sit and type, I have 3 more session waiting for editing and emails will be returned today *pinky promise* (along with piles of laundry, and floors that are begging to be cleaned).
Alas for one of my favorite families... The Carpenters! Thank you for choosing me again! I hope these were worth the wait!
One pair of these boots belong to my high school principle!! I was THRILLED to see him after so many years, and got some really sweet shots of him and his grandchildren, they literally made my heart smile!!!

I feel as though I am drowning in unedited sessions, and laundry... if that were actually possible. Maybe I could pay someone in photos to come do my laundry? Any takers?

Sometimes.. plan B is the best plan!
OK, so there was no official plan B, but here's the story. We had planned to shoot at UN-NAMED historic location in OKC. We thought they closed at 1 time, when indeed, they actually closed at the time we showed up for our session, and the oh so NOT helpful and unpleasant woman that was working in the UN-NAMED historic location (who had the office doors locked 10 minutes before close and does not return phone calls - ahem), was not about to leave the gate open for 10 minutes... but I understand, when its time to go, its time to go. I digress.
We were close to bricktown/midtown area, and racing the sun set. We jumped in our cars, and they agreed (unbeknownst to them at this point what a horrible driver I am) to follow me. So in my head I am driving to a specific location and my eye catches a building a NEED to shoot at, so with my blinker on right turn, I go straight through the light and park in a private parking lot (which I have never been in before), jump out and swear to the Dad that I am not crazy... we shoot for 10 minutes, hop back in our cars, I run over a cement curb (do not tell my husband), drive down alleys the wrong way... end up having at least 5 different AMAZING backgrounds, and have what I will call, 1 of my favorite sessions EVER!

This family is so beautiful.. each of them! Big sister was all about being in front of the camera.. and it LOVES her... little sis really wanted nothing to do with me or my Canon... after this day, I was wondering if 2 year old's would ever like me?? I may go dressed up as Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba next time!!!

Oh Brother!
I may be a little biased, but these boys really have it all. Not only are they incredibly handsome, but both have amazing athletic ability, and are insanely intelligent, top of their class students. I only hope they stay away from the girls... but I won't hold my breath.

2 years went by, since I shot this of Boston.
Boston at 6 months...
When Boston's mommy contacted me about shooting is 2 year photos, I was more than excited. He honestly is just as sweet as he cute... and what a great location!
