It was so great to meet this family for the first time!  I love this shot and how you can almost feel the love bouncing off them!

Post #2 Summer Session.

12 girls.

9 of them 7th grade cheerleaders and 3 little sisters. 

An abandoned field covered in cactus and stickers.

101 degree weather. 

45 minutes of day light left in the day (and I needed 2 hours).

2 amazing moms toting cactus and sticker hating little sisters on their backs along with moving and preparing props!

AND, I could just cry, these young ladies and their moms were AMAZING! Their outfits were perfection, their hair was to-die-for, and their spirits and attitudes showed nothing of the smoldering heat and sticker covered bodies... all to satisfy their photog friend who's had this idea floating around in her head for several weeks.

I'm about half way through editing, but had to post more pics after all the sweet messages and texts I've been getting from these ladies today!

This was one of my most humerus shoots!  I adore this family, and I "tried" to warn them of the abandoned location with rough terrain that we'd be marching through...  but it wasn't enough to prepare them for the cactus filled field who's current residents happen to be a pack of bees.  Did you know that bees are attracted to bright colors?  Dad was already less than pleased to be wearing a yellow shirt (which I happen to think he looked smashing in) ...  the bees were VERY excited about the yellow shirt, as a matter of fact, he was the most popular one in the group!

I can look back on it now and giggle... although I was extremely nervous in the moment about the bees! No one got stung!

This precious beautiful girl turned 12 this week.  Hubby refers to her as the renaissance girl! (mostly referring to her stellar musical interest that go beyond her years).

Happy Easter from my family to yours!

It seems like forever since I've had the opportunity to shoot my children together.... I did this around 7 PM.. and had about 15 minutes before, I was so thankful that I actually fell in love with more than just 1 photo... hence the over load below!

WE had such a beautiful Easter weekend, filled with lots of family and friends...and a beautiful worship service at our church with both sets of grandparents in tow! I couldn't ask for much more!

The girls did awesome for the most part... but of course, they have to be goofy or it wouldn't be real :)

When Hilary first told me of her idea for a family Valentine's shoot, my head was spinning I was so excited! This is such a beautiful, creative, family, I am blessed to have them as clients... and family!

The weekend before Christmas I was able to shoot my handsome younger brother and his beautiful family!  We also found out that same day, THEY ARE EXPECTING BABY #2!!!!

I am so excited for them and THRILLED to finally have another baby in the family!

I am so blessed to be married this man, and be the mother of these 2 angles!  We were very spoiled this Christmas, thanks to Santa of course!

All Mine!

When I look back at 2010.. I honestly want to run in to 2011 and never look back.. this year has been hell.  I've shed more tears on my pillow this year than any other, so I'd like for 2010 to get the heck out of dodge.

But then... I look at these 2 faces. *sigh* despite the heart ache we faced and are facing as a family, these 2 girls had an OUTSTANDING 2010.

Ashton made a seamless transition from elementary school to middle school.  She advanced in dance class, made the middle school competitive cheer team, is now sporting a round off double back handspring, has all A's with 1 B in her advanced Math class, and probably has one of the biggest hearts in the World. I've watched her clean her great grandmother's feet lying in the hospital bed, trim her nails,  feed this woman that has fed her 100's of times as a baby, and she does it with love and grace.  AND, she's not even 12.  I am so proud to be her mother.

Our youngest, our strong independent fireball, started kindergarten and what I thought would be a very rough adventure, has truly been the time of her life.  She loves her teacher... its almost an obsession, adores her classmates, and has made a load of brand new friends. She started reading last year, and keeps progressing every day.  She's taking 2 dance classes this year, but my favorite, is watching the dances she choreographs her self.. My facebook friends have had the privilege to see this! She lost her bottom 2 front teeth just last week, and watching her excitement is 2nd to none.  She's the owner of the best hugs in the Midwest, and the child can make you feel like the Rock-star she gets so excited when we walk in the room. She makes me smile like no one else can.  And I am so proud to be her mother.

 

Here's to looking at the good 2010 had to offer!!!

Christmas Cuties!

So happy to finally shoot this beautiful family!  I love them dearly!  The mom was stressing over pictures just like the rest of is do... and I love the way they turned out!
